About Yashvi Jatav

Yashvi comes from a very small, poor village in India. They live in a one-room mud hut, working odd jobs, trying to support the family. Yashvi has two sisters. Their extended family and villagers would persecute them for having girls and they felt it was getting dangerous for their girls that they love so much. Her parents decided to take Yashvi to the Mercy Home, over 300 miles away from their village. As difficult as this decision was, they knew it was best for Yashvi. So, at age 9, Yashvi arrived to the safety of the Mercy Home, where she has lived full time. Yashvi has worked extremely hard and was able to graduate from high school in June 2020, the first in her family!
In her spare time, she likes to read the Bible. Her favorite story is the story of the ten virgins because she wants to be like the wise one. She likes to eat white rice, dal, and mangos. Her favorite season is winter and she has a very sensitive heart and loves to read and sing.
