About Tulsi Devi
My name is Tulsi and I have two brothers. My father died five years ago so we came to live with my grandparents, my father’s parents, in a small village in central India. Two years ago my mother fell in love with a man, got married, and left all of us. We have not heard from her since. My grandparents are very poor but very loving. They are doing their best to raise me, but they fear for my safety. The school in this remote village is about 5 miles away from our home and we have to cross a hilly forest area where there are many wild animals as it adjoins a wildlife sanctuary known for its tigers. So our village preacher told us about this wonderful home called The Mercy Home. Hearing about this home, and seeing the wonderful work it has done in the lives of other girls in serious situations, I am asking you to give me the chance to live in this safe home with excellent schools. I will work hard to make good grades.
I want to become a nurse one day and help others. I enjoy playing with my new friends and like reading and drawing. I love chicken curry but it is a rare delicacy so we get to eat rice a lot, and that is OK, it is good too. Will you consider sponsoring me? May God bless you!
