About Tanya Sen
Tanya lives with her parents and her sister Trisha in a brick and concrete house in a remote village in Central India. This area is in a jungle in the mountains and experiences intense heat as well as alternating monsoon and drought seasons. The family uses wood as fuel to cook their meals. While the water well is not too far from their house, gathering water for all their daily needs is tedious and laborious.
Her father is a construction worker. Her mother is a homemaker and Tanya helps with cooking meals, fetching water from the well, and tending livestock. Tanya wants to become a doctor one day. She loves to read, sing and dance and enjoys playing soccer, volleyball, carom, (an Indian board game), and kho-kho, an Indian sport that is a bit like a team-based tag. Her favorite foods are dal (lentils), rice, vegetarian, chicken, and chapatti.
Please pray for Tanya; she comes from a Hindu family with no believers. Tanya needs your help and support to provide for school fees, uniform, books, school bag, and other needs.
