Syamu lives with his parents, two brothers, and one sister in a small mud hut in a village in Western India. This area is in a valley that experiences intense heat and drought seasons. The family uses wood as fuel to cook their meals. The well the family uses is over half a mile from their home which means gathering water each day is laborious and time-consuming.
His father is an unskilled laborer, which means he gets arduous jobs at construction sites or in agricultural fields. His mother is a homemaker and Syamu helps with fetching water and doing other household chores. Syamu wants to become a teacher one day. He enjoys reading along with playing cricket. His favorite foods are dal (lentils), rice, vegetarian, chicken, and chapatti. Please pray for Syamu; he comes from a Hindu family with no believers. Syamu needs your help and support to provide for his school fees, uniform, books, school bag, and other needs.
