About Sonoo Thakur
Sonoo lives with his parents and his two sisters, Sonam and Sakshi, in a small mud hut in a remote village in Central India. This area is in a jungle in the mountains where it rains frequently but also experiences seasons of drought usually during hot summer months. The family uses wood as fuel to cook their meals. The closest water well is about one kilometer from their home which makes gathering water for all their daily needs very laborious.
Sonoo helps with household chores, gardening, and fetching water. His father is a low-wage laborer while his mother is a homemaker. Sonoo wants to become a lawyer one day. He enjoys reading along with playing cricket. His favorite foods are dal (lentils), rice, chicken, and chapatti.
Although they are still Hindu, they attend Bible study and are exploring Christianity. Please pray for Sonoo and his family. Sonoo needs your help and support to provide for his school fees, uniform, books, school bag, and other needs.
