About Sona Martin
Sona came to the Mercy Home at a young age. Her father, who is a village preacher, was concerned for her safety and wanted her to obtain a good education that he could not afford. In 2019 Sona graduated from High School and now she is hoping to fulfill her childhood dream of becoming a nurse! Sona has been admitted to the Nursing College for the three-year General Nursing and Midwifery program.
Sona’s family can’t afford this expensive education and she hopes she will get a sponsor to support her for the next three years. Otherwise, she will have to go back home, and according to the village tradition, be given in prearranged marriage. This will cut off all hopes for the good future she always longed for.
Sona is praying that she will be picked up by a generous sponsor and get a chance to become an independent earning member of society and will be able to help the hurting people of India.
