About Simarjit Malkeet Kaur
Simarjit lives with her parents, two brothers, and two sisters in a small brick and mud house in a remote village located in the plains of North India. The climate in this village is hot and humid. This area also experiences monsoon seasons. The family uses propane as fuel to cook their meals. The water well the family uses is not too far from their home.
Simarjit helps with household chores. Her father is an unskilled low-wage laborer while her mother is a homemaker. Simarjit wants to become a nurse one day. She enjoys dancing, singing, and reading, along with playing kho-kho (an Indian game) and carom (an Indian board game). Her favorite foods are dal (lentils), rice, veggies, and chapatti (Indian bread).
Although the family is Sikh, they attend church each Sunday and explore Christianity. Please pray for Simarjit and her family that through these Bible studies they will come to know Jesus. Simarjit needs your help and support to provide for her school fees, school uniform, books, school bag, and other essential needs, such as shoes, school lunches, and an umbrella.
