About Shushma Kol

Shushma comes from a small village in Central India. Her father is a first-generation Christian village preacher. He is not highly educated but is very dedicated to the service of the Lord especially among the poor, the sick, and the people in remote villages. Shushma's mother has to do daily labor work at times to add to the family income. They live in a small mud-plastered house and cook their meals on firewood and cow dung patties. Shushma is their only child. They want to give her a good education and want to keep her in a safe Christian place, especially now when the persecution of Christians is on the rise.
Shushma was so glad to be given the opportunity to live a dignified life in the safe and godly atmosphere of Mercy Home! Shushma is in high school now and wants to continue her education and become a teacher one day. She loves studying and playing soccer. She likes chicken curry and fried rice.
