Shruti comes from a dedicated Christian family living in a small village. Her family consists of a mother, father, sister, and elderly live-in grandfather. Shruti's parents are actively involved in their local village church, working to instill the Truth of God in their two daughters. While at home, Shruti joins her family in daily devotion and prayer time. However, her father's job as a driver produces only a meager, unstable income, making life challenging for the family. Their active involvement as Christians also puts Shruti at risk of kidnapping or persecution.
Girls raised in contexts like Shruti's rarely have the opportunity to rise above their situation. However, Shruti dreams of growing and maturing into a confident contributor for the betterment of God's kingdom and society. She aspires to become a nurse, to bring healing to those in need. In order for her dreams to become a reality, Shruti needs the help of the Mercy Home. Shruti enjoys daily devotion and worship time at Mercy Home. Her favorite activities are singing and dancing with her new friends, as well as playing Kho-Kho and Carom. She enjoys eating all types of Indian cuisine.
