About Shorya Ahirwal

Shorya Ahirwal lives with his parents, grandparents, and his brother Sohail in a small brick-and-concrete house in a village in Central India. The climate in this village is hot and humid with periods of heavy monsoons in the summertime. The village is located near a river. The family uses wood and cow pies as fuel to cook their meals. The water well the family uses is about 100 meters from their home.

Shorya helps his parents with gardening, tending livestock, and household chores such as collecting firewood, making and drying cow pies, and fetching water in buckets from the well both morning and evening. His father is a farmer while his mother is a homemaker. Shorya wants to become a teacher one day. He enjoys dancing, singing, and reading. He also enjoys playing kho-kho (an Indian game) and soccer. His favorite foods are dal (lentils), rice, vegetables, and chicken.

Shorya comes from a Christian family. They are attending church each Sunday and read the Bible daily. Shorya needs your help and support to provide for his school fees, uniform, books, school bag, and other needs.

Thank you for helping provide Hope, Dignity, and a Future to Shorya!
