About Shalini George

Shalini is from a small, poor village where she lived with her grandfather and her sister, Palak. Her parents have to travel to a big city to earn a living for the family; they are unskilled laborers. Their grandfather is now very old so it is difficult for him to take care of these two young growing girls in a village where only a handful of people are Christians. There are also Hindu extremist groups coming to their village creating problems and because of that, they can no longer have house church meetings. They are very concerned about the girl’s safety, education, and spiritual growth. A visiting pastor told them about The Mercy Home and they feel so blessed that their two daughters have been accepted. They know this will be a wonderful opportunity for Shalini and Palak.

Shalini wants to become a teacher one day and help give village children a better education. She enjoys reading, studying, drawing, and dancing. She also likes playing soccer and volleyball at The Mercy Home. She loves all kinds of Indian food like rice, dal (lentil soup) vegetables, chicken, and mutton curry.

Shalini is praying every day that she and her sister are selected by a kind loving sponsor. She cannot thank you enough for your love, prayers, and for your generous support! Thank you for bringing hope, dignity, and a future to Shalini! May God bless you!!
