About Sapna Sagiya

Sapna Sagiya is from a small, remote village in Western India. This area is in a valley that experiences intense heat and drought seasons. She lives with her parents, two brothers, and three sisters in a small mud hut. The family uses wood as fuel to cook their meals, but they don’t have access to electricity. The water well the family uses is over half a mile from their home which means gathering water each day is laborious and time-consuming.

Her father is an unskilled laborer, which means he gets arduous jobs at construction sites or in agricultural fields. Her mother is a homemaker and even though Sapna is very young, she helps with household chores, cooking meals, gardening, fetching water, and tending livestock. Sapna wants to become a teacher one day. She loves to read and enjoys singing and dancing along with playing kho-kho. Her favorite foods are dal, rice, vegetables, and chapatti. Sapna comes from a Christian family. They attend church each Sunday, read the Bible daily, attend a Bible study, and pray together daily. Sapna needs your help and support to provide for school fees, uniform, books, school bag, and other needs.

Thank you for helping provide Hope, Dignity, and a Future to Sapna!
