About Pushpendra Kumar

Pushpendra comes from a rural village in Northern India. He lives with his parents, grandparents, brother, and sister in a mud-and-brick house without running water and electricity. Pushpendra helps his parents by collecting water from the well near their home, tending to the family's livestock, and caring for his younger siblings. To cook their meals, his family burns propane and cow pies as fuel. Located on an open plain, Pushpendra's village experiences a hot and humid climate during the summer monsoon season.

Pushpendra struggles with some activities due to a previous accident which broke his arm bone. He did not receive proper medical care for the break, and his bones grew back together improperly. Despite this handicap, Pushpendra aspires to become a police officer in the future. To provide for his school fees, school books, uniform, bag, and other essentials, Pushpendra needs your help. In his spare time, he enjoys dancing, singing, playing board games, and playing cricket. Chicken, chapatti (Indian-style bread), vegetarian dishes, rice, and dal (lentils) are some of his favorite foods. Due to a lack of calendar use in his village, Pushpendra does not know the date of his birth. On his government ID, his birthday has been designated as January 1st.
Thank you for helping provide Hope, Dignity and a Future to Pushpendra!
