About Pushpa Ahari

Pushpa Ahari is from a small, remote village in Western India. This area is in a jungle in the mountains that experiences intense heat and drought seasons. She lives with her parents, one brother, and three sisters in a small mud hut. The family doesn't have access to electricity and they use wood as fuel to cook their meals, they cannot afford propane. The water well the family uses is over half a mile from their home which means gathering water each day is laborious and time-consuming.

Her father is a farm laborer. Her mother is a homemaker and Pushpa helps with household chores, fetching water, and gardening. Pushpa wants to become a seamstress one day. She enjoys dancing and singing along with playing kho-kho with her friends. Her favorite foods are dal (lentils), rice, and chapatti. Pushpa comes from a Christian family. They attend church each Sunday and pray together daily. Pushpa needs your help and support to provide for her school fees, uniform, books, school bag, and other needs.

Thank you for providing Hope, Dignity, and a Future to Pushpa!
