About Pratibha Prajapati

Pratibha lives with her mother, father, one brother, and one sister. They live in a small, poor village in Central India in a one-room mud hut near a river. The well where they fetch their water is over 100 meters away, this is their only source of water. Pratibha's mother is a homemaker and her father is a low-wage laborer.

Pratibha dreams of being a lawyer one day. She is a very big help around the house and collects firewood and cow pies that her mother uses as fuel to cook on. She also helps babysit her brother and sister. She enjoys reading, drawing, and playing badminton with her friends. Their family's diet is very simple and consists mainly of dal (lentils), white rice, chapati, and Indian flatbread. On very special occasions they will kill a chicken and enjoy chicken curry.
