About Poonam Singh
Poonam comes from a very small, poor village in Central India. Although her parents are of the Hindu religion, they have become interested in learning more about Christianity. They began studying with the local pastor and attending prayer meetings. This caused persecution to their family and they feared that danger might come to Poonam. They learned of the Mercy Home from their pastor and asked if Poonam could go there and live. That was nearly five years ago when Poonam was only 13 years old.
Poonam has worked extremely hard while at the Mercy Home. She loves the daily routine, but especially the devotion, prayer, and praise time that all the girls share. Because of her hard work, she was able to graduate from high school in June 2020, the first in her family!
Thank you for helping Poonam with her dream of becoming a nurse by sponsoring her through college! The monthly sponsorship cost for Poonam's college is $200 a month, which will provide her with all tuition, room, board, uniforms, books, meals, and personal care items. Poonam has a sponsor that is able to pay only $100 a month. So she needs another sponsor at $100 a month.
