About Nisha Devi Marko
Nisha lives with her parents, two brothers, and two sisters in a small mud hut. They live in a very poor remote village in Central India. Nisha enjoys helping her mother with household chores such as collecting cow manure and forming them into nice round discs that dry on their roof; they use these as their main source of fuel to cook on. She is also a big help with fetching water in jugs from the local well, over 1000 meters away. Nisha also tends their garden and takes care of her younger with her brothers and sisters.
Nisha dreams of being a teacher someday. She enjoys reading, drawing, and singing. When she has some free time, you will find her playing soccer or carom (an Indian board game) with her friends. Her family is vegetarian and her favorite food is dal (lentils) with chapati (Indian flatbread).
Please pray for Nisha, her family, and her village; they are generations-old Hindus and our prayer is that they will come to know the Lord.
Thank you so much for providing Hope, Dignity, and a Future to Nisha!
