About Monika Maravi

Monika came to the Mercy Home from a remote village in Central India where she lived with her parents, two sisters, and one brother. She and her family are first-generation Christians. The area where the family lives is very hostile to Christians. Being Christians makes them targets for persecution, abuse, and even kidnapping. Their village is 15 miles away from the nearest town, which means there are very few academic and economic opportunities for this family. Her father works as a laborer and sometimes sells fish he has caught for extra money. Despite this, they are not able to afford a good education for their children. They are eager to have their children grow up knowing God.

Monica was very happy to become a member of the Mercy Home family! Here she will have a safe place to grow academically and spiritually. Monika loves to read. She also loves the daily devotions and worship time where she can sing and dance for God. In her spare time, Monika enjoys playing soccer or carom with her new friends. She enjoys all foods, from a simple meal of vegetables to mutton or chicken. Monika aspires to become a police officer.

Thank you for helping to provide Hope, Dignity, and a Future to Monika!
