About Mayank Dhobi

Mayank lives with his parents, grandparents, one brother, and sister in a small brick-and-mud hut. Their village is located on the plains of Northern India and experiences intense heat and heavy monsoon seasons. There is no electricity or running water in his home. The water well is located about 100 meters from their home. They use cow pies and wood as fuel to cook meals. Rice, chapatti, dal, chicken, and mutton are some of Mayank's favorite foods.

Mayank's father works as a laborer to provide for his large family. His mother has chronic health problems which keep her from performing many household duties. Mayank helps his parents by collecting water from the well near their home and tending to the family's livestock. Mayank loves to read. He wants to become a police officer. Mayank needs your help to provide for his school fees, school uniform, books, backpack, and other essentials such as school lunches and shoes. Mayank's favorite game is Kabaddi. Due to a lack of calendar use in his village, Mayank does not know the date of his birth. On his government ID, his birthday has been designated as January 1st. Although the family still practice their Hinduism, they are exploring Christianity. Please pray for this family.

Thank you for helping provide Hope, Dignity and a Future to Mayank!
