About Kiran Kharadi
Kiran lives with her parents, one brother, and two sisters in a small mud hut in a remote village in West India. This village is located in a valley, where the climate is hot and humid with occasional drought seasons. The family uses wood as fuel to cook their meals. They do not have electricity. The water well the family uses is about 1 mile from their home which means gathering water each day is laborious and time-consuming.
Her father is an unskilled low-wage laborer, which means he gets arduous jobs at construction sites or in agricultural fields. Her mother is a homemaker and even though she is still young, Kiran helps her mom with household chores. Kiran wants to become a teacher one day. She enjoys playing Kabaddi, an Indian sport in which teams send raiders to the opposing team to tag them for points. Her favorite foods are dal (lentils) and rice.
Kiran comes from a Christian family. They attend church each Sunday and pray together daily. Kiran needs your help and support to provide for school fees, uniform, books, school bag, and other needs. Thank you for helping provide Hope, Dignity, and a Future to Kiran!
