About Kavita Kumari Badera
Kavita lives with her parents and two brothers in a small mud-hut in a remote village in Western India. This area is in a jungle in the mountains that experiences intense heat and drought seasons. The family uses wood as fuel to cook their meals, as they cannot afford propane and don’t have access to electricity. The water well the family uses is over half a mile from their home which means gathering water each day is laborious and time-consuming.
Her father is an unskilled laborer, which means he gets arduous jobs at construction sites or in agricultural fields. Her mother is a homemaker and Kavita helps her with household chores, gardening, fetching water, and tending livestock. Kavita wants to become a teacher one day. She enjoys dancing and singing along with playing kho-kho. She is a vegetarian and her favorite foods are dal (lentils) and rice. Please pray for Kavita; she comes from a Hindu family with no believers. Kavita needs your help and support to provide for her school fees, uniform, books, school bag, and other needs. Due to a lack of calendar use in her village, Kavita does not know the date of her birth. On her government ID, her birthday is designated as January 1st.
