About Kanchan Baiga
Kanchan lives with her parents, brother Dashrath, and sister Priyanka in a remote village in Central India. This area is in a jungle in the mountains and experiences intense heat as well as alternating monsoon and drought seasons. The family uses wood as fuel to cook their meals. The closest water well the family uses is over 1,000 meters from their home which makes gathering water each day laborious and time-consuming.
Her father is an unskilled low-wage laborer. Her mother is a homemaker and Kanchan helps with the gardening and household chores. Kanchan wants to become a nurse one day. She enjoys dancing, singing and reading along with playing soccer. Her favorite foods are dal (lentils), rice, chicken, and chapatti.
Please pray for Kanchan; she comes from a Hindu family with no believers. Kanchan needs your help and support to provide for school fees, uniform, books, school bag, and other needs.
