About Jitendra Kumar
Jitendra came to Mercy Home from a very remote village in Central India where he lived with his parents and one brother. His father is an unskilled low-wage laborer, which means he gets arduous jobs at construction sites or in agricultural fields. His mother is a homemaker. They are very poor and his father does not make a good enough living to bear the family expenses. They are Christians which makes them targets for persecution, making the children particularly vulnerable on the long walks to school. Jitendra's parents want him to have a safe place to grow spiritually and academically.
Jitendra loves his Mercy Home family! He likes his new school and wants to become a teacher when he grows up. He loves to read and enjoys dancing and playing cricket and carom. His favorite foods are lentils, rice, lentils, chicken, and chapatti.
Thank you for providing Hope, Dignity, and a Better Future to Jitendra!
