About Jayprakash Ratre
Jayprakash lives with his parents and his brother Abhay in a simple brick and concrete house in a town located in Central India by the lake and surrounded by jungles and mountains. The climate in this area is hot and humid with occasional drought seasons. The family uses wood and propane as fuel to cook their meals. The water well the family uses is over 300 feet from their home which means gathering water each day is laborious and time-consuming.
Jayprakash comes from a devoted Christian family. His father is a preacher; he ofter travels to the surrounding communities to encourage the believers and to preach the Gospel. His mother is a homemaker and Jayprakash helps her with household chores, gardening, fetching water, and cooking meals. Jayprakash wants to become a preacher one day! He loves to study his Bible. He also enjoys singing, dancing and reading along with playing kho-kho, cricket and badminton. His favorite foods are lentils, rice, vegetables, chicken, and chapatti. Jayprakash needs your help and support to provide for school fees, uniform, books, school bag, and other needs.
