About Jagriti Bariya

Jagriti lives with her parents, her brother, Arman, and her sister, Archana, in a small brick and concrete house in a town in Northern India. The climate in this town is hot and dry. The town is located in a mountainous area. The family uses wood and propane as fuel to cook their meals. Their home does not have running water but they are blessed to have a water well nearby.

Jagriti helps with household chores and babysits her siblings. Her father is a laborer while her mother is a homemaker. Jagriti wants to become a nurse one day. She enjoys dancing along with playing kho-kho (an Indian game), boardgames and badminton. Her favorite foods are rice, chicken, chapatti, and mutton.

Jagriti comes from a Christian family. They attend church each Sunday and a Bible study. Jagriti needs your support to provide for her school fees, uniform, books, school bag, and other needs.
