About Hema Ahari
Hema is from a small, remote village in Western India. This area is in a jungle in the mountains that experiences intense heat and drought seasons. She lives with her parents, brother, and three sisters in a small mud hut. The family doesn't have access to electricity and they use wood as fuel to cook their meals, they cannot afford propane. The water well is over half a mile from their home which means gathering water each day is laborious and time-consuming.
Her father is a farm laborer. Her mother is a homemaker and Hema helps her with the household chores, gardening, and tending livestock. Hema wants to become a teacher one day. She loves to read and enjoys dancing along with playing kho-kho with her friends. Her favorite foods are dal, rice, and chapatti. Hema comes from a Christian family. They attend church each Sunday and pray together daily. Hema needs your help and support to provide for her school fees, uniform, books, school bag, and other needs.
Thank you for helping provide Hope, Dignity, and a Future to Hema!
