About Bana Ram

Bana lives with his parents, one brother and one sister in a mud hut in a small village in Central India. The village sits atop bluffs overlooking a river where the climate is hot and humid. This area also experiences drought seasons. His parents are farm laborers. They are very poor.
Bana helps a lot around the house; besides the regular household chores, he helps fetching water from the village well, bringing firewood to cook food and shopping for groceries at the market. He enjoys studying and is a good student. Bana has to walk over 3 miles everyday in order to attend school. Bana wants to become an engineer one day. He loves to read. He also likes to play cricket and carrom. His favorite food is mutton (goat) and rice. His favorite color is purple. Bana needs your help and support to provide for school fees, a uniform, books, a school bag, and other needs.
