About Ankita Kachi

NOTE: Ankita Kachi has graduated from High School and the Mercy Home in 2021! Thank you, Sponsors!!!
She is now in Nursing College!

Ankita lived in a village with her grandfather. Ankita's mother died when she was very young and soon after her father abandoned her. She was fortunate that she had her grandparents. They had a small piece of land and worked as field laborers. The grandparents took her in, but after two years Ankita's grandmother died. Her grandfather is a first-generation Christian and is the only believer in his village for the past 15 years. When he didn't shave his head and follow the usual Hindu burial rituals for his wife, his faith was revealed to the angry villagers and Hindu extremist groups. He felt it was not safe for him to leave Ankita at home while working on fields. He met one of the Mid India Christian preachers who told him about Mercy Home. With tears of joy and relief, he came to Sheela Lall to inquire about Mercy Home and begged her to take Ankita and help her trust and believe in her Heavenly Father.

Ankita now is a part of the Mercy Home and loves praise and worship. She loves simple Indian food and housework. She is adjusting to her Mercy Home family as she has never been away from her small village.

Thank you for helping us to provide Hope, Dignity, and a Future to Ankita!
