About Ankit Makhodiya
Ankit came to Mercy Home from a very remote jungle tribal village. He was eight years old at that time but did not know how to read or write because he never went to school before. Prior to coming to Mercy Home, Ankit had never seen a bathroom, a bed, or even a table and chairs. His parents and three sisters live in a one-room mud hut without electricity and running water, sharing it with some chicken, a cow, and an ox which they use for plowing the fields. His parents are first-generation Christians and are very poor. They work as field laborers.
Ankit wants to become a preacher when he grows up. He loves Bible stories and wants to tell others about Jesus. Ankit attends church weekly and participates in daily Bible studies at the Mercy Home. Ankit also loves his new school; now he is in 9th grade and getting good grades. In his spare time, Ankit enjoys playing soccer with his friends. He loves all kinds of food and is always thankful when he has a full tummy!
Thank you for providing Hope, Dignity, and a Future to Ankit!
