Nidhi Thakur lives with her parents, one brother and one sister in a brick and mud house in a town in Central India. The climate in this town is hot, dry and humid. This area also experiences drought seasons. The town is located near a river, in the jungle and in a mountainous area. The family uses wood as fuel to cook their meals. The water well the family uses is 800 meters from their home.
Nidhi helps with cooking meals for the family and doing household chores. Her father is a laborer while her mother is a homemaker. Nidhi wants to become a nurse one day. She enjoys dancing and singing along with playing kho-kho (an Indian game). Her favorite foods are dal (lentils), rice and chicken.
Nidhi comes from a Christian family. They attend church each Sunday and pray together daily. Nidhi needs your help and support in providing for school fees, uniform, books, school bag, and other needs.
