About Swati Gound

Swati lives with her parents and her sister Shivani in a small mud-hut in a remote village in Central India. This area is in a jungle in the mountains where it rains frequently but also experiences seasons of drought usually during hot summer months. The family uses wood as fuel to cook their meals. The closest water well is about one kilometer from their home which makes gathering water for all their daily needs very laborious.

Swati helps with fetching water, cooking meals, and tending livestock. Her father is a farmer while her mother is a low-wage laborer. Swati wants to become a teacher one day. She loves to read and sing and enjoys playing soccer and cricket. Swati and her family live on a simple diet of dal, white rice, some vegetables, and chapati. On special occasions, they will kill a chicken and enjoy chicken curry.

Although they are still Hindu, they attend a Bible study and are exploring Christianity. Please pray for Swati and her family. Swati needs your help and support to provide for her school fees, uniform, books, school bag, and other needs.

Thank you for providing Hope, Dignity, and a Future to Swati!
