About Yakub Bheel

Yakub comes from a remote village located deep in the jungle and cut off from the modern economy. This village offers little opportunity for advancement or education. Yakub's family lives primitively, growing their own food and making their own tools from jungle materials. Due to previous exploitation by the Indian government and other false "aid" groups, the people of Yakub's village are suspicious of the outside world. However, the crippling poverty that permeates their lives spurs Yakub's parents to search for a brighter future for their five children.

Brought to the Lord by Indian evangelists, Yakub's father now serves as the pastor of their small tribal congregation. This service makes Yakub's family a target for persecution from radical Hindu groups. Desiring safety and opportunity for their kids, his parents sought out the help of the Mercy Home. Now, Yakub and his brother Vikas have the privilege of living at the Mercy Home, where they receive a quality education and eat three nutritious meals every day (plus snacks!). In the future, Yakub would like to become a teacher in a poor village like his own. He enjoys reading books and playing Carrom with his new friends.

Thank you for providing Hope, Dignity, and a Future to Yakub!
