About Sunita Raidas

Sunita comes from a very poor village in central India. Her mother is not educated and works as a daily laborer, finding work as she can. Unfortunately, her father passed away. Sunita and her brother and mother then moved in with her grandparents, who are also not educated and also work as laborers. In Sunita’s home village, three generations all live together in a small hut.  There is no running water, so they must walk a long distance to carry water home.

Because of their poor situation, it is difficult for Sunita to get a good education. The closest school is miles away which is not safe for her to walk alone to, so her family heard of the Mercy Home from the traveling pastor that visits their village. Sunita was excited when she was accepted to Mercy Home in the summer of 2022. With your help, Sunita will have the chance to completely change her life and break the cycle of poverty.

Sunita dreams of becoming a nurse someday. She enjoys singing and playing the Indian game called Kho-Kho with her friends. She also likes to draw and paint. But mostly she likes to help others, helping with cooking, taking care of goats and a cow, cleaning, and any other chores she can do.

Thank you for giving Sunita the dignity, hope, and future she dreams of. She is praying for you and for the opportunity you are giving her. God bless you!
