About Tara Kharadi

Tara lives with her parents and two brothers in a small mud hut in a remote village in West India. This village is located in a valley, where the climate is hot and humid with occasional drought seasons. The family uses wood as fuel to cook their meals. They do not have electricity. The water well the family uses is about one mile from their home which means gathering water each day is laborious and time-consuming.

Her father is an unskilled low-wage laborer, which means he gets arduous jobs at construction sites or in agricultural fields. Her mother is a homemaker and even though she is very young, Tara helps with household chores. Tara wants to become a teacher one day. She loves to read and enjoys playing carom, an Indian board game. Her favorite foods are dal (lentils) and rice.

Tara comes from a Christian family. They attend church each Sunday. Tara needs your help and support to provide for school fees, uniform, books, school bag, and other needs.

Thank you for helping provide Hope, Dignity, and a Future to Tara!
