About Sonia Malkeet Kaur
Sonia Malkeet Kaur lives with her parents, two brothers and two sisters in a brick and mud house in a small village located in plains of North India. The climate in this village is hot and humid. This area also experiences monsoon seasons. The family uses propane as fuel to cook their meals. The water well the family uses is not too far from their home.
Sonia helps with household chores and babysitting her siblings. Her father is an unskilled low wage laborer while her mother is a homemaker. Understanding the value of education, Sonia wants to become a teacher one day. She enjoys singing and reading, along with playing kho-kho and carom (both Indian games), along with other board games. Her favorite foods are dal (lentils), rice, veggies, and chapatti (an Indian bread).
Although the family is Sikh, they are attending church each Sunday and exploring Christianity. Please pray for Sonia and her family that through these Bible studies they will come to know the Lord. Sonia needs your help and support to provide for her school fees, school uniform, books, school bag and other essential needs, such as shoes, school lunches, and an umbrella.
