About Satyam Raj

Satyam Raj lives with his parents, his brother Karan, and his sister Mansi in a brick and mud house in a small village in Central India. The climate in this village is hot and humid and they experience heavy monsoon storms in the summer. The village is located near a river. The family uses wood and cow-pies as fuel to cook their meals. The water well the family uses is 100 meters from their home.

Satyam helps with gardening, collecting firewood, making and drying cow pies, and fetching water in buckets to bring home for his mom to use for cleaning and cooking. His father is a laborer, which means he goes out each day looking for manual labor so that he can earn an income for his family. His mother is a homemaker. Satyam wants to become a lawyer one day. He enjoys dancing, singing, and reading. He also enjoys playing soccer and carom (an Indian game). His favorite foods are dal (lentils), rice, vegetables, chicken, and fish (that he sometimes catches in the river by his home).

Satyam comes from a Christian family. They read the Bible and pray together daily. Satyam needs your help and support to provide for his school fees, uniform, books, school bag, and other needs.

Thank you for helping provide Hope, Dignity, and a Future to Satyam!
