About Santosh Dama
Santosh lives with his parents, two brothers, and one sister in a small mud hut in a remote village in Western India. This area is in a valley that experiences intense heat and drought seasons. The family uses wood as fuel to cook their meals. The water well the family uses is about a third of a mile from their home which means gathering water each day is laborious and time-consuming.
Santosh comes from a Christian family; they attend church each Sunday, attend a Bible study, and have a daily family Bible-reading and prayer time. Both of her parents are unskilled laborers, which means they get arduous jobs at construction sites or in agricultural fields. Since both of her parents work outside the home, Santosh helps with gardening, fetching water, household chores, and tending livestock. Santosh wants to become a teacher one day. He loves to read and enjoys singing and dancing along with playing soccer, cricket, and kho-kho. His favorite foods are dal (lentils), rice, chicken, and chapatti. Santosh needs your help and support to provide for school fees, uniform, books, school bag, and other needs.
Thank you for helping provide Hope, Dignity, and a Future to Santosh!
