About Ritu Kharadi
Ritu lives with her parents and three brothers in a small mud-hut in a remote village in West India. This village is located in a valley, where the climate is hot and humid with occasional drought seasons. The family uses wood as fuel to cook their meals. They do not have electricity. The water well the family uses is about 700 feet from their home which means gathering water each day is laborious and time-consuming.
Her father is an unskilled low-wage laborer. Her mother is a homemaker. Ritu is the oldest daughter and she helps her mom with household chores, fetching water from the well, gardening, and watching younger siblings. Ritu wants to become a teacher one day. She loves to read and enjoys playing carom (an Indian board game). Her favorite foods are vegetarian meals and chapatti.
Ritu comes from a Christian family that loves to attend their local church each Sunday. Ritu needs your help and support to provide for her school fees, uniform, books, school bag, and other needs.
Thank you for providing Hope, Dignity, and a Future to Ritu!
