About Pooja Gond

Pooja lives with her parents, one brother, and one sister in a small brick and mud house in a poor remote village in Central India. This area is in a jungle in the mountains and experiences intense heat as well as alternating monsoon and drought seasons. The family uses cowpies and wood as fuel to cook their meals. The water well the family uses is more than 1500 feet from their home which means gathering water each day is laborious and time-consuming.

Her father is a laborer. Her mother is a homemaker and Pooja helps her mom with household chores, cooking meals, fetching water from the well, and gardening. Pooja wants to become a police officer one day. She enjoys dancing along with playing kho-kho, an Indian sport that is a bit like a team-based tag. Her favorite foods are dal (lentils) and rice.

Please pray for Pooja; she comes from a Hindu family with no believers. Pooja needs your help and support to provide for school fees, uniform, books, school bag, and other needs. Thank you for helping provide Hope, Dignity, and a Future to Pooja!
