About Neelam Gound
Neelam Gound lives with her parents, grandparents, two brothers, and one sister in a small mud hut in a remote village in Central India. This area is in a jungle in the mountains where it rains frequently but also experiences seasons of drought usually during hot summer months. The family uses wood as fuel to cook their meals. The closest water well is about one kilometer from their home which makes gathering water for all their daily needs very laborious.
Neelam helps her parents with cleaning the house, fetching water, and taking care of a goat. Her father is a low-wage laborer and her mother is a homemaker. Neelam wants to become a teacher one day. She loves to read. In her spare time, she likes to play cricket or soccer. Her favorite foods are dal (lentils) and rice.
Although they are still Hindu, they attend a Bible study and are exploring Christianity. Please pray for Neelam and her family. Neelam needs your help and support to provide for her school fees, uniform, books, school supplies, and other needs.
