About Kavita Bheel
Kavita comes from a poor jungle village. To provide for themselves, Kavita's parents and their six children grow grain on a small plot of land. However, these farming efforts produce barely enough food for the family to survive. A lack of economic opportunity in their remote village, as well as their low-caste position in society, prevent Kavita's family from bettering their situation. The family, along with their animals, live in a one-room, haphazard mud hut without electricity or running water. Their only source of water is located over a mile from their home.
Seeking a better future for their daughter, Kavita's parents asked the Mercy Home for help. Her parents' prayers were answered when Kavita was accepted into the Mercy Home. Now, Kavita gets three healthy meals each day (plus snacks!) and attends a quality school. Most importantly, she attends church each week and participates in daily devotions. Inspired by her new situation, Kavita is already looking ahead to college and wants to study nursing so she can help sick people. In her spare time, she enjoys playing carom (an Indian board game) with her new friends. She also likes to draw and sing songs of worship, as well as eat all kinds of food.
Thank you for providing Hope, Dignity, and a Future to Kavita!
