About Jeewan Lal Banskar
Jeewan Lal Banskar wrote in his Fall 2023 letter, "I left the school and now I am working."
Jeewan lives with his parents, his brother Naks, and sister Alka in a town located in Central India by the lake and surrounded by jungles and mountains. The climate in this area is hot and humid with occasional drought seasons. The family uses wood and propane as fuel to cook their meals. While the water well is not too far from their house, gathering water for all their daily needs is tedious and laborious.
His father is an unskilled low paid laborer. His mother is a homemaker and Jeewan helps her with gardening, fetching water from the well, and household chores. Jeewan wants to become a teacher one day. He enjoys reading along with playing cricket and badminton. He and his family live on a simple diet of dal (lentils), white rice, some vegetables, and chapati (flat Indian bread). On special occasions, they will kill a chicken and enjoy chicken curry.
Please pray for Jeewan; he comes from a Hindu family with no believers. Jeewan needs your help and support to provide for school fees, uniform, books, school bag, and other needs. Thank you for helping provide Hope, Dignity, and a Future to Jeewan!
