About Hehmus Ahari
Hehmus is from a small, remote village in Western India. This area is in a jungle in the mountains that experiences intense heat and drought seasons. He lives with his parents and four sisters in a small mud hut. The family doesn't have access to electricity and they use wood as fuel to cook their meals, they cannot afford propane. The water well the family uses is over half a mile from their home which means gathering water each day is laborious and time-consuming.
His father is a farm laborer. His mother is a homemaker and Hehmus helps with the gardening and tending livestock. Hehmus wants to become a tailor. He enjoys reading along with playing kho-kho with his siblings and friends. He enjoys vegetarian dishes with rice and chapatti. Hehmus comes from a Christian family. They attend church each Sunday and pray together daily. Hehmus needs your help and support to provide for his school fees, uniform, books, school bag, and other needs.
