About Deepa Singh

Deepa lives with her parents, two brothers and two sisters in a small mud hut in a remote village in Central India. The climate in this village is hot and dry. This area also experiences monsoon and drought seasons. The village is located near a river in the jungle. The family uses wood as fuel to cook their meals. The water well the family uses is about 500 meters from their home.
Deepa helps her parents with cooking meals and fetching water from the well. Her father is a laborer while her mother is a homemaker. Deepa wants to become a nurse one day. She loves to read. In her spare time, she enjoys playing kho-kho (an Indian game) with her friends. Her favorite food is vegetarian.
Deepa comes from a Christian family. They attend church each Sunday and pray together daily. Deepa needs your help and support in providing for school fees, uniform, books, school bag, and other needs.
