About Chhaya Thakre
Chhaya lives with her parents and her sister in a small brick and concrete house in a village surrounded by the jungles of Central India. The climate in this village is hot and humid. This area also experiences seasons of monsoons and droughts. The family uses propane and wood as fuel to cook their meals. The water well the family uses is not too far from their home. They carry large jugs to the well, usually on their head, to gather the water needed for all daily cleaning, cooking, and bathing.
Chhaya helps with fetching their water, cooking meals and household chores. Her father is a low wage unskilled laborer while her mother is a homemaker. Chhaya wants to break this cycle of poverty and dreams of becoming a doctor one day. She loves to read, she also enjoys dancing along with playing kho-kho. Her favorite foods are vegetarian dishes and chapatti.
Please pray for Chhaya as she comes from a Hindu family with no believers. Chhaya needs your help and support to provide for her school fees, school uniform, books, school bag, and other needs such as school lunches and shoes.
