Bhagwati came to Mercy Home from a very remote village in Central India. There is no electricity in their village. Her father owns a very small piece of agricultural land and farms on it. There is barely enough food to feed his family. Her mother is a housewife. They face all the hardships of village life in remote India. They are first-generation Christians and love the Lord with all their hearts. Because of their faith in Christ, they face persecution from the Hindu extremist groups in the village. This makes it very dangerous for Christian girls to remain in the village.
Bhagwati was so happy to have the opportunity to live in the safe and godly environment of the Mercy Home! She wants to continue her education and become a doctor or nurse. Bhagwati likes to dance and enjoys playing kho-kho and soccer. She loves the simple Indian meal of rice, dal, vegetables, and chapatti (Indian bread).
