About Ashwin Paragi

Ashwin lives with his parents and his younger brother Akshay in a small brick and concrete house in a remote village in Western India. This area is in a valley that experiences intense heat and drought seasons. The family uses wood as fuel to cook their meals. The water well the family uses is over 650 feet from their home which means gathering water each day is laborious and time-consuming.

Ashwin comes from a Christian family; they regularly attend church services and have daily family Bible reading and prayer time. His father is a farmer. His mother is a teacher. Ashwin helps with tending the livestock and household chores. Ashwin wants to become a doctor one day. He enjoys reading and singing along with playing cricket. His favorite foods are dal (lentils), rice, vegetables, chicken, and chapatti. Ashwin needs your help and support to provide for his school fees, uniform, books, school bag, and other needs.
