About Ashish Tahed

Ashish means "blessing" in the Hindi language. He came to the Mercy Home form a remote jungle village where his father is a tribal preacher. Ashish has five sisters. They have made their small hut using sticks and mud, the family grows some crops around it. There is no electricity, running water, or paved roads in the village. Ashish has never seen a bathroom, a bed, or even a table or chairs before he came to Mercy Home.

Ashish wants to become a preacher or a lawyer when he grows up, but there are no good educational facilities in the area where he lived and most people in his tribe are illiterate so they are easily exploited by outside people. Recognizing the value of education, Ashish's parents prayed that God would provide him with a way to rise above these circumstances. The answer to their prayer came through the Mercy Home where he is given the opportunity to gain a valuable academic education and achieve his goals. But most importantly, Ashish is growing in his knowledge of the Bible and his relationship with Christ. In his spare time, Ashish enjoys playing cricket with his new friends. He enjoys singing and dancing. His favorite foods are chicken, goat, rice, and an Indian bread called "roti."

Thank you for helping provide Hope, Dignity and a Future to Ashish!
