About Anita Kumari Ahari

Anita is from a small, remote village in Western India. This area is in a jungle in the mountains that experiences intense heat and drought seasons. She lives with her parents, one brother, and one sister in a small mud hut. The family doesn't have access to electricity and they use wood as fuel to cook their meals, they cannot afford propane. The water well the family uses is over half a mile from their home which means gathering water each day is laborious and time-consuming.

Her father is a village preacher and her mother is a homemaker. They also do some farming. Anita helps her parents with household chores, gardening, fetching water, and tending livestock. Anita wants to become a teacher one day. She enjoys reading and dancing along with playing kho-kho. Her favorite foods are dal (lentils), rice, chicken, and mutton. Anita comes from a Christian family. They attend church each Sunday, read the Bible daily, and pray together daily. Anita needs your help and support to provide for her school fees, uniform, books, school bag, and other needs.

Thank you for helping provide Hope, Dignity, and a Future to Anita!
