About Akash Pargi
Akash came to Mercy Home from a very remote, tribal village where he lived with his parents, and one sister. This area is deep in the jungle without roads, electricity, running water, or any modern facilities. The closest school is about 15 kilometers away in another village and the only way to get there is to cross the jungle by a trail. It was very difficult and not safe for Akash to walk to school every day because of the distance, especially during monsoon seasons or on very hot days. Akash comes from a simple Christian family and they want their children to obtain a good education in order to have a better future.
Akash is very grateful to be accepted into the Mercy Home family; this is the answer to their prayer! Akash loves to study. He wants to become a doctor because he sees the way the people of his tribe suffer without modern medical care. At the Mercy Home, he will be able to get the education he will need to achieve this goal! Akash enjoys dancing and playing kho-kho with his new friends. His favorite foods are rice, lentils, vegetables, and chapatti.
